Doctoral and clinical training
I completed my doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the Metanoia Institute, London — one of the UK’s leading training institutes for counselling psychology and psychotherapy. Alongside the doctorate, I hold clinical diplomas in integrative and psychodynamic psychotherapy from the same institution.
My doctoral research focused on maternal estrangement and intergenerational transmission — specifically, the experiences of women estranged from their mothers who go on to become mothers themselves. The research is held in the Middlesex University repository and was presented at the International Association for Relationship Research (IARR) annual conference in 2021.
Professional registration and membership
I am a Chartered Psychologist and registered with:
- British Psychological Society (BPS) — Chartered Member
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) — Registered Practitioner Psychologist
I practise in accordance with the ethical frameworks and standards of both bodies, and maintain regular clinical supervision as required by professional guidelines.
France: I hold degree equivalence as a practising psychologist in France and am registered as a Psychologue with the RPPS. For clients in France who hold a mutuelle offering partial reimbursement for therapy sessions, I can provide receipts in French or English.
Specialist training
EMDR — I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach to trauma processing which I incorporate into clinical work where appropriate.
HeartMath — I am training to be HeartMath certified, integrating evidence-based biofeedback techniques to support emotional regulation and nervous system resilience.

I am regularly approached as an expert commentator on family estrangement, contributing clinical perspective to coverage in national and international press.
